These pens are gorgeous
I love the colors of these pens!! It’s so nice to finally have a yellow pen that is legible 😂 they are bright like advertised! They take a minute to dry…obviously and sometimes the ink doesn’t fully come out so you have to make a scribble every once in a while but that’s to be expected with pens like this. Comfortable to hold and worth every cent because the colors are THAT pretty.

Smooth gel pen
Got this pack on a deal and it was worth the money. Wouldn’t pay for these again though. The feel of the gel pen is decent however, it doesn’t write smooth. I often have to move the pen around to get it to write completely.

writes well on dark paper
overall this is a great set of pens to write on dark paper OR white paper. the pink is a little bit disappointing, and the more absorbent the paper the less they show up. definitely a good value for the price.

Great Pen But…
These colored pens are beautiful on paper. I would say they are easy to hold. My only issue is that they due tend to smear so you need to give them a minute to dry. They are not overly expensive and will definitely get the job done.

A little disappointed
I was really excited for these pens, especially when I read they could be used on colored paper- even black paper! I have been using these pens for a few weeks now and while I do really like most of the pens- when they work how they’re supposed to anyways. The reason for 3 stars is because of the skipping. I can’t stand it and honestly I think the cause is the stupid glue balls that come on them that you have to scrape off. That’s just my opinion but I have dealt with all their other pens that have that glue on it and had them skip as well when writing. Also it’s not all of the pens that do this skipping. PS – the green is a horrible color it doesn’t even look how all the other ones looks- nice and bright. So that was another star off. Otherwise they’re ok.

For those that think gelly rolls are too much and most gel pens for black paper are too little, these are just right! opaque, smooth, bright and vibrant on any black paper, no skipping or gooping. the only thing i would change is we need more colors!

THESE PENS SKIP
I am always looking for the next best pen, but these skip pretty bad. Even if I stick to one color for most of my day every time, I go to use the pen it’ll skip to the point where I’m opening it up to make sure there is even ink. I am pretty disappointed. I would only by if you don’t mind the pen skipping but if you don’t like the fact that it will be skipping regardless of what you do. I would not buy.

Highly recommend!
I bought these for use on black paper but also love the way they write/look on white paper. They flow a bit more smoothly than the popular gel pen brand. I’m very impressed with how solid they appear on the black paper. Will definitely purchase again once I’ve used these up!

Ink
I love the colors! They look really well on white or black paper. I have used it with other colored paper, and I have enjoyed the colors. Sometimes the ink does not write smoothly. I have had the most problem with this with the green ink pen. The teal/mint colored pen also sometimes has this problem. I have tried using it on several types of paper. I do have to press down with a little bit of pressure for the ink to come out smooth while writing.

Heavy Writing Flop
I have tried ALL the types of pens that can write on dark surfaces. I am the classic alt goth living in the corporate world. When black sticky notes came out I was shocked more companies were not on the ‘bright’ pen idea.When I saw Paper Mate decided to make Ink Joy’s (my favorite pens EVER) in bright writable colors I HAD to have them.Signed up for the preorder and everything, and yet another flop.Does not dry down quick as stated. Also you have to write very heavy handed. The ink comes as a liquid chalk consistency and when it dries at the tip leaves it hard to get a proper flow the next time used.These are not the worst I have tried, but I will not be ordering more for the price.

Gorgeous colors but not for all paper colors
The media could not be loaded.
Ok, so I tested these on both black and white papers. You can see that the fluidity is not consistent between the two. Now, the colors on the white paper are gorgeous!! But since I did buy these to use with my black sticky notes, it’s a 3-star for me. Just to double check, since this is a new set of pens, I did check on the black after the white and it still gave me the same results.

These pens are great! I bought them for my son’s birthday and they are bright and fun. They do show up on white and dark paper really well.They write smooth and consistent, which can be an issue with gel pens. I want a set for myself.

Bright but cloud be brighter
I liked the pens design :)The performance could be better. The white pen leaves some inconsistent lines at times. Yellow is not really visible on white paper. I don’t have a black paper now but I used some spaces from the box.The color becomes brighter with light as you can see in the pictures. One is used with flash, which the one you can se the colors easily.

Slow drying and inconsistent ink flow
I wanted to love these pens, Ink Joy are my favorites. These pens are comfortable and feel just like the standard pens however the ink dries slow, and while writing the ink flow is inconsistent. The colors are beautiful and that is the only reason I am keeping them.

Ink skips horribly. One of the worst pens I’ve ever used.
I was very excited about these pens and unfortunately they are one of the worst pens I’ve ever used. I have written on multiple paper types and the ink skips no matter the type of paper. Tgey are not smooth at all. I have tried post it notes, copy paper, card stock, different notebooks and even sketchbooks, watercolor paper and the results are the same.

Do not buy unless for kids
I rarely write reviews but felt I should let others know not to buy these. They don’t write smoothly. Yes, colors are bright and beautiful but that’s not helpful if the pen doesn’t write well. Lots of skips and inconsistent strokes make a mess of the writing. Can’t use for grading papers. Will give them to my 10 year old. 🙁

Aesthetics: The pens look nice; I like the slightly “grip-y” matte exterior of the pens, and I also appreciate the thicker-than-usual barrelColors: Pretty colors; nice varietyPerformance: These make nice thick lines (0.7mm); the point and roller is smooth most of the time, but occasionally “skips” lines; the ink flows nicely; the colors opaque-enough.I tested the pens on 3 papers: The ink performs well when used on the bright white 28lb paper, and also excellent on the “Etranger di Costarica” black paper; however, the colors are very mediocre when used on the “astrobright” cardstock (please see attached photo for visuals)* L —> R: “Astrobrights” black cardstock; 28lb 100 brightness white paper; “Etranger di Costarica” black paperhth!

Beautiful colors but could be better
These pens are effortless to use (once you get that little ball of wax off the tip) and comfortable to hold. The brighter colors look outstanding on white paper. However, I was disappointed with the white and yellow pens. They do not look like the examples shown on black paper. You can watch them dry down, but these two colors faded to almost nothing. Not a bad price if you can use the coupon ($1.98 off when I purchased), but I wouldn’t pay full price for them.

When they write they are beautiful colors and lookGreat, however they aren’t consistent enough to use on projects. The ink doesn’t flow freely enough like I like! Gelly Rolls still beat these for me.

They’re pretty, but annoying sometimes
They do definitely skip a little when writing, but if you’re willing to work through that/press a little harder they’re good. I bought them to write on my black notebook and the colors are gorgeous!

Disappointed

Not efficient
These pens work and standout against light dark surfaces, but you have to really concentrate on keeping the ink flowing. Like, when starting some letters the ink doesn’t come out right away or when you haven’t picked up the pen for a little while, it will run out of ink. I bought these for marking up diagrams at work, but I don’t think these will work for that. You have to be able to pay attention to what’s being said to you and to your surroundings- not the pen.

Ok, kind of disappointed.
The colors I could get to write (4/6) are wonderful, but my dark blue and white won’t smooth out. I’ve tried many different methods, and while it isn’t a big deal in the end, it does make some projects frustrating.

Rough writing
I really want to give these a nice review however I honestly am disappointed in them.Tge pen feels great in my hand and so pretty on color. However the write rough, skip in writing if the pen writes at all. I have to write 4 lines in my journal to even get decent, consistent smooth writing. Not worth it.

Dooodlers dream come true!

Love the colors, but…
I had to get these and try them for myself. The colors are very pigmented, but these pens skip so much. I’m so disappointed. The only way to get them to work like they should is to write slow. I’m keeping them just because the colors are so vibrant.

Great pens but they DON’T LAST
These pens write very smoothly, I ordered them because I had the same model (a different version though) and I still use it after having it for a year and filling numerous notebooks with it. But I’ve filled up half a note book so far and already 2 of the pens have run out. I dissembled the pens to see that they were only filled halfway with ink to begin with. The picture shows my old pen that still works on the left and then the new ones (first two being unused and the second two being used after a week.)
