Nice sketch books
The sketch books are very nice. The paper is higher quality and is thicker than normal paper. No complaints about this product at all.

Nice paper.
These are nice paper pads for drawing. Only complaint is there were a ton of tiny shaving from when they bulk cut the sheets that made a mess upon opening the plastic wrap. They also got in between the sheets so they constantly show up even after the initial clean up of the front and back covers.

Big and thick sketchbooks, but not too heavy for travel
This set of two thick 9×12 inch,100 page sketch pads Is made from a medium grade toothy cream-colored sketch paper and is backed with a medium thick cardboard sufficient to keep the pad from bowing during handheld drawing. The cover is a flexible coated card stock and it has a solid wire binding along the top edge. Everything about these pads makes them well suited for high volume sketching with dry media. They are sufficiently well-made to not interfere with drawing pleasure but not overly focused on having the sort of extremely premium paper that tends to discourage artists from putting them into daily use.I have a real appreciation for solid quality, work-grade artist tools and these sketchpads absolutely fit the bill. The balance of quality, weight, durability, and abundance is right where it needs to be for me. The paper is nicely responsive to different grades of graphite pencil hardness and variations in hand pressure with pencil and charcoal. Surprisingly, the paper also played very nicely with my water based markers – even allowing light layering and blending with no signs of pilling or buckling until I exceeded three layers of color. It’s definitely worth testing a page with less dry media to see if you may have some additional opportunities to use various coloring materials. I also really like the tactile qualities of the paper surface on these pads. It has just the right amount of friction and auditory feedback to round out a good pencil sketching or multi liner inking session. These pads are an excellent example of a quality artist’s basic, done right, at a good price point.

This is NOT for markers or paint
This paper is NOT for markers or paint. It is for pencils, charcoal, or pastels. When I used alcohol ink markers, the colors bled through to the page below. Plus, the markers made an awful squeaking sound when dragged over these smooth pages. The top bound spiral makes this suitable for left-handed artists. What I liked most is that the cardboard back is thick enough to support hand-held sketching and to protect the paper from bending when added to a tote bag. Very useful size and the paper weight is thick enough to withstand erasing when I make a mistake. For ten dollars, this is a decent deal. Worth it!

Excellent for drawing
The 9×12″ size is a tricky one for finding frames, but is consistent with watercolor paper pad sizing, so it’s not a surprise to find sketching pads in the same size. The paper quality is shockingly good for the price, although you may find that dark pencil marks won’t go away completely regardless what kind of eraser you’re using. But if you’re looking to do the sketching version of “plein air”, these pads are a great option – the spiral at the top means it’s out of the way, and the pages are perforated to tear easily. Works great for graphite pencils – I haven’t yet tried them with colored pencils.

Sketch Book
This is a nice sketch book. It is 9″×12″, so a good-sized surface to draw pictures on. The paper is a good quality & takes pencils well. I like that it is spiral bound. It helps the book to lay flat.

This is loved by my little artist
My daughter is the artist in the house and is constantly eating up sketchbooks. So when I gave this for her to try, she instantly fell in love with it. It has a lot of pages in both books and the books being spiral bound was easy for her to flip back and forth pages. She said the pages are a nice texture and feel to them and has a nice weight as well. They handle basic sketches very well and erasing when needed. We both love that this came in a two pack.I can highly recommend this product.

More texture than I am used to in a sketch pad, but still great paper
Maybe I have a different definition of sketch paper, but this seems to have more texture than most of my other sketch pads. That can be an issue for getting really clean lines in pencil, especially when scanning the art later. When I scanned my first drawing, I got a lot of shadow texture because the paper isn’t totally flat and smooth, so I had to enhance the image after scanning to get rid of the shadowing. That can lead to other issues with image quality. As for a comfortble drawing surface, I do really like it. And I have found that it’s great for inks. There’s no bleed through, even with my india ink markers. The weight is heavy enough that I think you could even use it for watercolor paper, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Sturdy and kid friendly
Let me introduce you to the perfect sketchbook for young artists – it’s kid-friendly, with thick pages that can handle all kinds of mediums like markets, pastels, and colored pencils. Not only is it durable enough to withstand enthusiastic young hands, but it also provides a smooth surface for creative expression.Whether it’s doodling, coloring, or sketching, this sketchbook is a versatile canvas that encourages imagination to run wild. The thick pages ensure that artwork won’t bleed through, allowing young artists to explore their creativity without limitations. What’s more, it’s not just for kids – this sketchbook makes a fantastic gift for anyone with a passion for art. Whether they’re a budding artist or a seasoned pro, they’ll appreciate the quality and versatility of this sketchbook.Overall, I can’t recommend this sketchbook enough. It’s the perfect combination of durability, functionality, and creativity, making it a must-have for any art enthusiast, young or old.

White “confetti” when you open the package
First, when I opened the package, white “confetti” covered me and my couch. It’s debris left over from when they spiralized the paper. Super annoying to clean up. And the paper is much thinner then I expected. I wasn’t planning on using marker, and good thing because this looks like it’ll bleed right through. Not impressed, but I’m a beginner and this will probably suffice until I want to invest in something better.

Low quality paper
I usually buy Strathmore Medium paper for sketching but tried this because it was so much cheaper. I had to return the pad because the paper was such poor quality by comparison. If you draw slowly with an ink pen or markers, the image will bleed on the paper. Don’t buy if you’re serious about keeping your drawings!

Great sketch books
These sketch books are great for getting my ideas down on paper. They are a nice size and there are plenty of sheets in the pad. I like top bind sketch books because it allows me more side to side room and does not get in the way of my wrist. The weight of this paper is relatively light which is fine for pencil sketches or colored pencil. It also works with fine line pen, but if there is too much moisture it will bleed through. I like using these to practice portraits and other drawings before committing them to canvas or more expensive heavier paper.

Nice Paper quality
This sketchbook is a delight for artists of all levels with its thick, acid-free pages that prevent bleeding and ghosting. The spiral-bound design makes it easy to use, although a more robust cover would help protect the artwork better.

Good paper for many media. Spiral binding for Landscape work.
Although the listing says this is hardcover, it has a thin paper cover on the front with a good hard piece of cardboard on the back. It is bound on the short side, the 9” side, so it is ideal for those who do landscape sketching. What I like most about it is the size. It is small enough to put in a backpack, and large enough to let your sketches roam. The spiral bounding is large enough that you can put you can attach a pencil if you want. Of course, acid-free is always a plus.

Super Nice Sketch Pad — Definitely would buy again!
I really like everything about this sketch pad. It has very high quality paper that is excellent for drawing/sketching with your pencils and charcoals. The pad is a nice size that has a good strong cardboard back so you can easily sketch without the whole thing bending. I especially like that the rings are on top of the pad — which keeps it out of the way of your drawing and feels like it gives you more room (I will never go back to side rings again). The paper is perforated at the top so you can easily tear off the sheet. This entire sketch pad is very high quality all the way around and is an excellent price. I will definitely buy this pad again. It is a very great price and I highly recommend it.

Excellent quality sketchbooks! Great value! Love mine!
This is a set of two sketchbooks. They measure 9 inches by 12 inches and are a 68 lb weight. Each book contains 100 pages or sheets giving you a total of 200 sheets for both books. They are spiral bound at the top, not at the side. The paper has an excellent weight with good tooth to it. It will be very satisfactory for most all of your dry media, but may not be the best for paints as it would probably pucker. I got these books because they are great value and would leave me free to make sketches and not worry about the cost of the paper. These are excellent quality sketchbooks, great for the student and the professional alike. These would also be an excellent present for your artist on your gift list!

Just as described
These sketch books are such great quality. My kids are very artistic and I’m excited to give these to each of them to develop their skills. The paper is thick and whether they paint or color, it won’t seep through. They are blank as well with no other markings and the spiral on the top flows nicely to turn the pages.

Very Nice Quality Sketch Pad, Paper Has Great Texture
I think this is a really nice quality sketch pad for either pencil, pen or charcoal. It is a bit larger than A4 sized paper, which is a nice size to work with. The paper has a really good texture and heft to it and I can see it even handling watercolors very well.It has the spiral at the top of the pad rather than on the side, which makes it nice for both righties and lefties without having to rotate the pad. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality sketch book

Good product overall, but some quality control issues
Overall, the quality of this product is solid and I’m pleased. The two pads come wrapped together in cellophane, so you don’t need to worry about them being damage by weather en route, and I think both regular artists and dabblers would find the quality suitable. The pages *are* perforated (as advertised) but the tear line is faint, so you have to look carefully to find it (it tears off normally, though). On the downside, the company needs to work on its quality control. When I took off the cellophane, one of the pads “shook out” a considerable shower tiny paper bits. Not the end of the world, but a pain to clean up. Also, one of the pads has a (single) piece of paper with a noticeable grey vertical line (see picture). These aren’t dealbreakers, but nor are they encouraging. Given that (as of this review) these sketchpads are competitively rather than budget-priced, there is nothing in particular to recommend this brand over others–all the more reason for the manufacturer to take better care.

4 Stars for Price Only
Maybe this sketch book is acid free … maybe not. I don’t have the means to test for that quality. Here’s what I do know: You get what you pay for. And this book of 100 sheets is inexpensive. The paper is very absorptive — a Sharpie bleeds through immediately. However, it does hold fountain pen ink fairly well … although the paper sheds so much fiber, using a fountain pen or any other more delicate instrument is ill advised. Here’s the kicker though: Graphite from a pencil does NOT erase, even using a soft high quality Blackwing. This would be a good big sketch book for very small children. The quality of the paper is very low.

Ink doesn’t bleed through
This sketchbook offers a budget-friendly option with a generous page count. While it might not be the smoothest for fine ink pens, its neat pages and affordability make it an ideal choice for new and returning artists eager to get creative without spending too much.

Great other than the little bits
This is a nice sketchpad. The paper moves well on the spiral binding. The metal binder is strong and well designed. The paper itself is the expected weight. My only criticism is that there were a lot of little bits of paper that were coming off initially, likely from the manufacturing process.

Resistant to damage from erasing and markers, good quality
I received this item as a Vine reviewer. For me, the most important qualities in a sketchbook are size, resistance to erasing damage, and resistance to marker bleedthrough though technically a marker is not a “dry media.” These were the things I tested for.I am an artist in watercolor, ink and mixed media; formerly a commercial artist and now working on a watercolor-and-ink comic and fine art. For sketchbooks, one important factor is the size. Tiny sketchbooks are useless but you don’t want to be carrying around a brick either if you are sketching while traveling or walking. To me 9″ by 12″ is a great size. I also like that the spiral binding is at the top.Beyond that, you need to be able to erase without damaging the paper, and while this is technically a dry media sketchbook, being able to use markers without bleedthrough is also nice. I tested it’s durability to erasing by using two pencils I commonly use, a “B” and a mechanical pencil, and also a hard “H” pencil, and also tested it with acrylic marker to test bleedthrough. I used two erasers, a Faber-Castell kneadable eraser which proved insufficient for complete erasing and an Alvin white vinyl eraser which did a much better job. The paper was subjected to significant erasing pressure from the latter which did not mar the surface whatsoever. The acrylic marker did not bleed through at all, so while the paper is listed for “dry media” I would say it is perfectly fine for use with most markers. If I might pick one small nit, I would say that the paper is difficult to achieve complete erasure on. As you can see from the provided image, there is still a slight bit of ghosting. I do not know of any other paper which would be significantly better in this regard, however, and the paper stands up to really robust erasing.I also have to say that this is a good value. $10 apiece for quite large thick sketchbooks of paper that is tough enough to stand up to severe erasing is not a bad deal. For watercolor or printmaking paper, it is well worth your while to go for expensive quality paper like Arches, but for sketch paper this works great and is also inexpensive.Overall I am pretty happy with it. I didn’t have high expectations when I ordered it, but it’s pretty much what I need in a sketch book.
